Everett Residents Weigh In on War, Gas Prices, and an Uncertain Future

April 7, 2026 - Everett, WA

People reaching out to each other with open hands

In times of uncertainty, there's something powerful about simply asking your neighbors how they're doing, and listening. We asked Everett residents to tell us, in their own words, how all of it is making them feel. Here's what they shared.

"I like peace, I don't like war."

"I have a son-in-law in the Army, and thinking about him going out there is terrifying. The war is crazy, gas prices are crazy, there's just so much we have no control over."

"We're all just stuck in the grind, everything's so expensive, you can't function unless you're working working working. And not knowing what's gonna happen tomorrow, it is scary."

"The US is supposed to be the place where you can be anything, and right now, if you don't fit into a very small sub-class, then you can't be anything, and it sucks."

These are times that will force us to come together. Once we learn to truly appreciate the beauty of the things that are different about each other, then we'll learn to fix the things that are broken."

"Let's just try to love one another, and rise up against the bullshit, that's all we can do."

"I'm not an apocalypse survivor. If I see a mushroom cloud, I'm driving toward it."
