Meet Your Everett Neighbor: Jeannine Fosca

March 2, 2026 - Everett, WA

Portrait of Jeannine

This story is part of our series on meeting your Everett neighbors. Do you know someone who should be featured? Reach out and let us know.

Jeannine Fosca has called Everett home for 16 years, and she loves it here.

After 30 years working in child protective services at Washington's DCYF, Jeannine is heading into retirement, but she's not slowing down. In 2023, she published Trail of Compassion - her life story leading up to and since contracting HIV in 1993, when she was a Peace Corps volunteer in Nigeria, West Africa.

For Jeannine, retirement is about figuring out what comes next. Her biggest hope is to discover her next chapter in life, which might include overseas travel. In the meantime, when she needs a good spot to write, you'll likely find her at Artisans Books & Coffee.

Like a lot of us, she's keeping an eye on the international situation unfolding in Iran - but closer to home, she's rooted in her neighborhood and the people in it. Her message to her neighbors? "I love north Everett."
