Tonight, Everett community members gathered for the second installment of the Big Give Showdown, an innovative annual benefit event hosted by the Everett Public Schools Foundation.
Kay Fantin, Executive Director of the Foundation, organized the event across all three Everett high schools, inviting students and families from surrounding feeder schools as well. The multi-school format offers a unique opportunity for families with younger children to experience the high school campuses their kids may one day attend.

The event kicked off with a pre-show celebration of classroom grant winners - teachers who received funding to develop and carry out creative, innovative ideas in their classrooms. The main event was a lively game show featuring trivia competitions and physical challenges between the participating schools. The winning school takes home $2,000 and the first-ever Everett Cup award.
Beyond the fun and school spirit, the stakes are significant. The Foundation is on track to raise over $800,000 for Everett schools this year, a milestone Fantin says would not be possible without the generosity of the surrounding community. Events like the Big Give Showdown help amplify that generosity by generating energy, excitement, and increased donations — a true win-win for everyone involved.
Looking ahead to 2026, Fantin says the Foundation remains committed to putting students first and ensuring they have the resources they need to thrive. Want to get more involved? Fantin encourages community members to start by visiting the Foundation's website.
