The latest Cocoon House fundraiser had an unusual focus. "This event is designed to engage the local community" declared Joe Alonso, CEO. "It takes a village" really means everyone, he reminded the crowd.

Cocoon House serves youth and young adults, ages 12-24, who struggle with housing instability, family conflict, and homelessness - connecting them to services and offering support.

"A lot of youth have their first meaningful holiday experience at Cocoon House" - Joe Alonso

Asked about his expectations for next year, Alonso said that funding is at unprecedented lows for non-profits, and he's concerned about long-term programs and housing. But he also sees new opportunities, such as expanding current programs to Lynnwood.

Cocoon House will host quarterly forums beginning in 2026.
